In March 2021, team FAB received a letter from Dr. Deepak Bahiram (Medical Superintendent, RH Abhona) seeking support to upgrade Abhona Gramin Hospital & Covid Centre, a rural hospital in Abhona village, Nasik. They had 20 beds, which wasn’t enough to deal with the rising number of Covid cases in the village. The hospital also urgently needed more oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, and other medical equipment.
The fund collected work amounting to Rs. 14 Lacs (Rupees fourteen lacs only) for the upgradation of this hospital.
The team mobilized quickly to procure the necessary equipment after thorough due diligence. Despite the shortage of medical equipment during the height of the pandemic, the team was able to source, buy and deliver 15 jumbo oxygen cylinders, 5 oxygen concentrators, 20 pulse oximeters, 20 flowmeters, 3 multipara monitors, and 5 semi-fowler beds, in just three weeks.
This was possible with the help of Mr. Mukesh Mehta and his family, who raised the funds needed for the equipment, and Mr. Mahendra Shah, who took care of the sourcing and logistics.
With Team FAB’s assistance, Abhona Gramin Hospital & Covid Centre is now a 30-bed hospital and is better prepared to deal with Covid cases in the village.
Our sincere thanks to Mr. Mukesh Mehata & family, Mr. Mahedra Shah for all the help & support extended for the upgradation of this hospital. We regard the facilitated effort of Mr. Haridasan Nair & Mr. Vaibhav Bhandari for all the paperwork & conjunction, in spite of providing time to facilitate the smooth functioning of this project.
